Alfred Nobel was an entrepreneur and discoverer. His will was to organize a fund to be used for prizes in his name. The fields were Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and Peace. The first Nobel Prizes were awarded 1901. The way to identify the winners is secretive and rigorous. The lecture will focus on some prices highlighting the revolution in our understanding of the biological world due to structural biology.
