On Saturday night TV One news carried a story on new childhood cancer charity REACH, started by four mothers of children with cancer. REACH aims to raise funds to help Professor Parry Guilford's research on childhood cancers.

Prof Guilford is also the recipient of funding for breast cancer research from the Karen Louisa Foundation, founded in memory of Karen Louisa Hunter, who died in 2015 in her early thirties from metastatic breast cancer.

Both of these projects will be co-funded by the National Science Challenge "Healthier Lives".
