The Department of Biochemistry is a great place to do your post-graduate degree. Staff in the department have a wide range of research interests - from human metabolism to protein structure, and from cold adaptation in antarctic fish to the the genetics of deafness - so you will find a project that matches your interests no matter what they may be.
We have weekly seminars with local and visiting speakers, weekly Journal Clubs where staff and postgraduate students present recent papers from the literature, and fortnightly PhD Colloquia where PhD students present and discuss their research amongst themselves. Our graduates are therefore broadly educated and much in demand.
