The NZGL Genome Sequencer FLX service at the University of Otago is open for business.
As of today, the 454/Roche Genome Sequencer FLX system is fully operational as the first sequencing service offered in conjunction with New Zealand Genomics Ltd for researchers around the country.
The Genome Sequencer FLX instrument provides next generation sequencing combining long read length (400-500 bp average) with high accuracy (Q20 400 bp) to support you with applications such as:
De novo sequencing
Genomic DNA
Transcriptomes
Metagenomic analysis
Amplicon sequencing
Genome finishing strategies
3, 8 and 20 kb paired end sequencing
Re-sequencing of known genomes
Sequence capture: whole exome or custom (human) as well as others
